Home – Sarah Outen

It was such a joy to work with Sarah Outen and the team on the new, multi-award-winning documentary ‘Home’. We were thrilled to be asked to take care of the audio post-production.

This incredible film captures Sarah’s epic journey across the globe. Using nothing but bicycles, kayaks, rowing boats and a hefty dose of woman-power, she trekked a jaw-dropping 20,000 miles+, solo.

The film weaves together heart-warming yet unflinching footage, taken over a duration of four years. Most of the film was self-shot so we took great care to blend the sound from the original footage with new ambiences, music and sound design elements.

Throughout the project, we worked closely with Sarah using sound design to help bring the story to life and recreate the emotions she experienced during the most dramatic moments.

The shorter festival edit is currently screening as part of the Banff Mountain Festival Tour across UK and worldwide (Red programme), and will be touring with Mendi Festival in Spain this spring.

Home will be touring in Canada in March, USA in May, and Australia & NZ this coming summer 2020. To find out more, visit Light Shed Pictures’s website, or Sarah’s own site here.
